After years of speculation and fan demands, Tiësto has officially confirmed what the trance faithful have been begging for: he's going back to his roots. The Dutch legend wiped his Instagram, revived his classic 1999 logo, and dropped two euphoric trance singles—"Bring Me To Life" and "Beautiful Places"—as the first taste of a new album coming in 2026.
This isn't a side project or a one-off nostalgia play. This is a full-blown return to the sound that built his career three decades ago. Tiësto dominated the early 2000s with generational trance anthems like "Adagio For Strings," "Lethal Industry," and the legendary In Search of Sunrise mix series before pivoting toward mainstream house and dance-pop collaborations with Ava Max, Karol G, and others.
The comeback has been brewing all year. At EDC Las Vegas 2025, Tiësto delivered a two-hour "In Search of Sunrise" set that sent shockwaves through the trance community. Then came Dreamstate SoCal in November, where he debuted "Beautiful Places" and cemented the narrative that this wasn't just a throwback—it was a rebirth.
Tiësto on His Return to Trance
"My connection to dance music has never been stronger. Playing these new sounds live and feeling the energy from the crowd has been unbelievable. It's pushed me into this new era and inspired the direction of both the single and the album. This moment feels more authentic and exciting than ever."
The new tracks showcase the vintage Tiësto formula: soaring melodies, quivering synths, and emotional builds designed for sunrise festival moments. "Bring Me To Life" features Swedish singer FORS, delivering haunting vocals about longing and transformation. "Beautiful Places," featuring Brieanna Grace, debuted at Dreamstate and has already become a fan favorite, recalling the glory days of early 2000s progressive trance.
Adding fuel to the fire, Tiësto has teased an Ibiza residency for summer 2026, likely at the newly rebranded [UNVRS] club (formerly Hï Ibiza). He'll also headline Creamfields 2026 on August 30 with a trance-focused set at the Steel Yard stage, marking one of the festival's most anticipated performances of the year.
The trance revival is officially underway, and Tiësto—one of the genre's founding architects—is leading the charge. Whether this is a permanent shift or a calculated creative detour remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: 2026 belongs to trance, and the Godfather of EDM is back where he started.
